BIG (1988)

Hello class!

After watching this masterpiece of a movie, I have a few questions for you:

  1. How did a 13-year-old boy accomplish every little thing that adults try so hard to accomplish, but most of the time don't get?
  2. Which things in Josh Basking are worth-imitating and spreading around the whole world? Why?
  3. Why do you think he chose to go back to his life, even when he was more successful than the rest in just one month?
  4. Would you go back to your life or not? Explain.
Please take into consideration that if questions are not answered accordingly with the instructions and your answers display more than 15 grammar or spelling mistakes, you will not get the total amount of points.

Take the time to write your answers and double check it before submitting it.

Deadline: Tuesday, April 03rd, at 11:59pm.

    TEDTalk - Self-Esteem Project.

    Hello class!

TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). Look for talks on Technology, Entertainment and Design -- plus science, business, global issues, the arts and much more.

About 10,000 people a month Google the phrase, “Am I ugly?” and Meaghan Ramsey of the Dove Self-Esteem Project has a feeling that many of them are young girls.

In a deeply unsettling talk, she walks us through the surprising impacts of low body and image confidence—from lower grade point averages to greater risk-taking with drugs and alcohol. And then shares the key things all of us can do to disrupt this reality.

Please fill out your entry with the following information:

    1. What does "good appearance" mean to you?
    2. Is good appearance important to you? Why? Why not?
    3. What effect do celebrities and media have in your personal idea of good appearance?
    4. Please write a 100-word paragraph with a message you would give to someone else, based on what you just learned from the TEDTalk.

Remember that opinions cannot be exactly the same.

Please take into consideration that if questions are not answered accordingly with the instructions and your answers display more than 15 grammar or spelling mistakes, you will not get the total amount of points. Take the time to write your answers and double check it before submitting it.

Deadline: Sunday, March 18th, at 11:59pm.
